James Shields

James Darrell Shields, 59, of Bedford, KY., died on Thursday afternoon November 15, 2007 at the VA Medical Center in Louisville, KY.

He was born in Carrollton, Carroll Co., KY., on February 20, 1948 the son of James S. Shields of Carrollton, KY., and the late Earline (Stockdale) Shields. Jim was a proud owner for over 30 years of Jim's Chimney Service. Jim was a member of the Henry County, KY., Masonic Lodge. He was married for over 40 years to the former Judi Pratt, to who he married on April 28, 1967. He was a loyal and dear friend who loved his family very much.

Jim served his country in the U.S. Air Force from August 31, 1966 to August 28, 1970 during the Vietnam Era.

He will be missed by his father, his wife; Judi (Pratt) Shields of Bedford, KY., a son; Jason B. Shields of Louisville, KY., a sister; Jean Finney of Duluth, MN., a brother; Steven Shields of Carrollton, KY., and his Grand Daughter; Sarah Ashley Shields of Louisville, KY..

Jim's request was to be cremated with services to be private. In Lieu of Flowers Memorial Gifts were suggesteded to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
