James Dempsey, 73, of Carrollton, KY, died on Friday evening, August 24, 2018 at his home in Carrollton, KY.
He was born on April 27, 1945 in Eminence, Henry County, KY, the son of the late Ernest Dempsey and Daisy Perry Thornton. He was a retired lead foreman after 30 years of service from the former M & T Chemical Co. He had been a member of the Worthville Christian Church.
He had served his Country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War Era having been stationed in Germany.
He will be missed by his son’s, Doug (Candy) Dempsey of Worthville, KY; a daughter, Stella J. Couch of Carrollton, KY; nine other children that he and Ann raised, Mark Sanders of Warsaw, KY; Sharon Neuner of Bedford, KY; Frieda Arvin of Connersville, IN; Phyllis Sculley of Worthville, KY; Barbara Adams of Bedford, KY; Jeanie Rider of Worthville, KY; and Joyce Singer of Frankfort, KY; a brother, Porter Lee Perry of Warsaw, KY; three sisters, Rose Cox and Mary Robertson of Worthville, KY; and Lula Lemons of Cynthiana, KY; four grandchildren, James Douglas Dempsey (Kristen) of Owenton, KY; Jenna Dempsey of Carrollton, KY; Jessica McCormick (Opy) of Carrollton, KY; and Kayla Dempsey (Wayne) of Berea, KY; and nine great grandchildren. Several other grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive that were from the nine children that were raised.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ann Dempsey on April 20, 2005, two son’s that he and Ann raised, Chester Payton & Richard Sanders, a daughter that they raised, Paula Smith, a brother, Joe Perry.
A Memorial Service will be on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 4:00 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at the funeral home. Cremation services were chosen by James, with the burial of his Ashes to take place in the Dallasburg Cemetery in Wheatley, KY.
