James David Vannarsdall, 66, of Carrollton, KY., passed away at his residence in Carrollton, KY.
The loving husband, father and friend joined his best friend and wife in God's Kingdom on March 27,2012. We imagine his first words are "Yes Dear".
Jimmy was born in Wheatley, Owen County, KY, on January 20, 1946 to the late Olen T. Vannarsdall and Virginia Mae Wilson Vannarsdall. Prior to retirement Jimmy was an insurance salesman for Woodman of the World Insurance Co., he enjoyed meeting and helping people. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Cuba Crisis. He was a member of the American Legion Post #41 in Carrollton, KY.
Jimmy and Nelda were married on his 21st Birthday and went on to have three children, two daughters, Barbara Day and Starla Wang and one son, David Vannarsdall.
Jimmy is survived by his children and their spouses, David and Sandy Vannarsdall of Evansville, IN, two daughters, Barbara and Robert Day of Evansville, IN and Starla and Richard Wang of Milton, KY. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Amy, Sarah, and Leah Wang, Brittany and Ethan Vannarsdall and Johnny Marklin. Jimmy is also survived by five brothers, Larry Vannarsdall, Wheatley, KY, Gene Vannarsdall, Carrollton, KY, Ronny Vannarsdall, Scottsburg, IN, Dickie Vannarsdall, Hazard, KY, Johnny Vannarsdall, Carrollton, KY, four sisters, Donna Duncan, Owenton, KY, Judy Cobb, Owenton, KY, Diane McKinney, Bedford, KY, and Susan New, Sanders, KY.
Jimmy passed his love and passion for woodworking on to his son David and his love and passion for fishing to his grandsons Ethan and Johnny.
Take a deep breath Pop, you're home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Nelda Vannarsdall and by three sisters, Rita Sue Vannarsdall, Patsy Ann Vannarsdall and Sharon Lee Vannarsdall.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to The Carroll County Animal Support Group.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the Bluegrass if Northern Kentucky yellow team for all their loving care and support.
The services will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with the visitation being on Friday, March 30, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
