James C. "J.C." Banks, 85, of Bedford, Carroll County, KY., died on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the Davis Elderly Care in Hanover, IN.
He was born on October 12, 1925 the son of the late Corbett and Carrie Meeks Banks. He was a Farmer all of his life, having raised Dairy & Beef Cattle and Tobacco, he also had worked at the Big Burley Tobacco Warehouse as a Tobacco Checkout Man. He had previously served as a Carroll County Deputy Sheriff. He served on the community ASCS Committee from 1957-1972, then he went on to serve on the County ASCS/FSA Committee for from 1973-1990, He had also previously served on the Marketing Quota Review Committee. Mr. Banks had also served on the Southern States Co-Op Board of Directors. He was of the Methodist Faith.
He will be missed by his wife, Frances Jo Banks of Bedford, Carroll County, KY.
Mr. Banks was preceded in death by his parents and one infant son, Delmas Banks.
Funeral Services were on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with Pastor Matthew Lipe presiding. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton, KY.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Hopewell Community Church in care of the funeral home.
Arrangements are entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
