Jane McCormick

Jane Chilton McCormick, 70, of Carrollton, KY., died on Thursday evening, April 15, 2010 at the Kindred Hospital in Louisville, KY., after a lengthy illness.

She was born on August 9, 1939 the daughter of the late Ben Lee and Hattie B. (Sanders) Chilton. Jane was retired from the Conn Organ Company and had previously worked as a Cafeteria Cook at the Cartmell School in Carrollton. She was a member of the Cove Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; Ernest "Buck" McCormick of Carrollton, KY., a step-daughter; Patricia Ann Mefford of Carrollton, KY., two step-sons; Ernest Allen Grimes of Settlesburg, IN. and Tad Brooks of Floyds Knobs, IN., five sisters; Mary Colburn of Louisville, KY., Joann Nevils of New Albany, IN., Martha Lee Chafer of Carrollton, KY., Elizabeth Peelman of Lockport, KY., and Judy Fayler of Lockport, KY., a brother also survives; Robert Chilton of Carrollton, KY., three grandchildren; Karla (Cecil) Beach, Kandi Mefford and Cameron (Stephanie) Mefford and three great grandchildren; Austin and Allie Beach and DJ Orme.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, a sister; Margaret Butler and four brothers; Dike, Roy, Tommy and Ernest Chilton and one granddaughter; Carolyn Sue Mefford.

Funeral Services were Monday, April 19, 2010 with the Rev. Joe Kindoll officiating the service. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
