Janie Smith, 67, of Milton, KY., died on Monday, August 20, 2012 at the Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY.
She was born on March 2, 1945 in English, Carroll County, KY., the daughter of the late Jessie D. and Amanda Chatman Smith. She was a self-employed painter and also did wall papering. She was of the Baptist Faith. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and her cats.
She will be missed by her daughter, T. June Elwood of Carrollton, KY., her son, Glenn E. Elwood of Carrollton, KY., her sister, Grace Banks of Milton, KY., her brothers, Roger Smith of Turners Station, KY., Edward and Elmer Smith both of Carrollton, KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Loetta Helm, four brothers, Howard, Wilbert, Orvin and Donald Smith.
Funeral Services will be on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. Jason Owenby officiating the service. Visitation is Wednesday, August 22, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the English Cemetery in Carrollton, KY.
