Jerry David McAlister, 80, passed away on August 2, 2023, in Turners Station, Henry County, KY. Born on December 1, 1942, in Frankfort, Franklin County, KY, to the late Ferrell McAlister and Lucille Kitson McAlister. Jerry lived a life full of love and dedication to his family and career.
Jerry made his career at the former M & T Chemical Company in Carrollton. He started as a Chemical Operator and worked his way up to becoming a Supervisor of the Yard Crew when the company transitioned into Arkema Chemical Company. He retired with pride after 30 years of service.
He was a member of the English Christian Church.
Outside of work, Jerry had a special passion for gardening and farming. He found solace in nurturing plants and enjoyed seeing the fruits of his labor blossom.
Jerry's proudest accomplishments were centered around his family. Time spent with loved ones brought him immense joy and fulfillment. His dedication to his late wife, Jean McAlister, was unwavering throughout their years together. His marriage was a testament to love, loyalty, and unwavering support.
Jerry will be forever remembered and cherished by his family. He is survived by his sons, Tim (Karen) McAlister of Turners Station, KY and Kyle (Gwen) McAlister of Vevay, IN; daughter Dana (Danny) Wesley of Glencoe, KY; sister June Kash of Louisville, KY; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire future generations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jean McAlister, and a sister, Pat Hawkins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 4th, 2023 at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM, Friday, August 4, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Port Royal Cemetery.
Jerry David Mc Alister will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His gentle presence, unwavering dedication, and love for his family and community will forever be remembered. May he rest in eternal peace.
