Jerry A. Risk, age 85, of Carrollton, KY, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022, at his home. He was born in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, on July 21, 1936, to Alfred L. and Irma Cornish Risk. Jerry was a faithful and active member of the Carrollton United Methodist Church, the Methodist Men and served in many capacities with various church offices and committees. He was a 1954 graduate of Henry Clay High School and graduated in 1959 from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. After college, Jerry worked for Texas Instruments and Kuhlman Electric in Versailles, KY, and spent most of his career at the Kentucky Utilities Ghent Generating Station where he retired from in 1998. All through his life, he enjoyed cars and especially motorcycles. In his younger years he raced motorcycles. Jerry also faithfully served his country in the U. S. Army.
His survivors include two sons; David E. Risk and his wife Michele of Carrollton, KY, and Allen C. Risk and his wife Joyce of Morehead, KY; two grandchildren, Lydia Risk and Austin Vaught. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 51 years, Betty Tuttle Risk, and a granddaughter, Tabitha Risk.
