Jo Ann Southworth

Jo Ann Southworth, age, 62, born Jo Ann Taylor on January 28, 1961, in Carrollton, Carroll County, Kentucky, passed this world on July 30, 2024, in Carrollton. She was a woman of many talents and diverse career paths. Most recently as a housewife, Jo Ann ventured into various roles including working for Garner & Scott Cleaning Company, serving as a receptionist at General Butler State Park, and even taking up security positions at Cabot Corporation and Kentucky Utilities. She also dedicated her time as a caregiver to the elderly and found herself working as a cage manager at Belterra Casino in the past.

Those who knew Jo Ann understood her deep love for reading, especially when shared with her late husband Mark. Gardening was not just a hobby for her but a passion that brought color and life to her surroundings. Her fondness for fish aquariums revealed her nurturing nature while music always had a special place in her heart.

In the wake of her passing, Jo Ann leaves behind cherished memories for her surviving family and friends. She is survived by her daughter Miranda (Michael) Smith and son Andrew Beard of Carrollton, KY. Also left to cherish her memory are stepdaughter Bessie (Mike) Howard of Carrollton, KY; stepsons Ricky (Jenny) Southworth of Carrollton, KY, and Carl (Christy) Southworth of Springboro, OH. Her sister Sue Stangle and brother Eddie (Gini) Taylor mourn the loss alongside their nineteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Jo Ann is preceded by her parents Louis Edward Taylor and Joan Lee Cottrell Robbins, her husband, Mark Douglas Southworth on July 19, 2023, her great-grandson Atlas Truman Howard on May 6, 2024.  She was also preceded by her precious fur baby "Bella" on July 29, 2024.

A visitation to honor Jo Ann's life will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. Sean Waldrip officiating the service Burial will take place in the Worthville Cemetery in Worthville, KY.
