Joe Bishop| Jr.

Joe "J.B" Bishop, Jr., of Carrollton, KY., formerly of Owen County., KY., died on Saturday evening, April 12, 2008 at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Owen County, KY., on December 9, 1920, the son of the late Joe Bishop, Sr. and Ollie (Floyd) Bishop. He was the former owner of Bishop's Feed Store in Owenton, KY., and a farmer. He was a member of the Southfork Baptist Church and the Owenton V.F.W.

"J.B." served his country during W.W.II. in the U.S. Army, having received a Purple Heart for the services rendered during W.W.II.

He is survived by a daughter; Monta Jo Hudgins of Carrollton, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; Lois (Cobb) Bishop ( January 28, 2002), sisters Pauline Bishop Ayres, Bernice Baker and Dora Jones, brothers; Goebel, Ed, and Fred Bishop and one infant brother.

Funeral Services were conducted on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. The Rev. Kerry Dale Spencer officiated the funeral service.

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial Gifts were given to the Southfork Baptist Church or the American Heart Association.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Fueneral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
