Joel C. Johnson, 71, of Carrollton, KY., died on Wednesday afternoon, May 30, 2012 at the Green Valley Health and Rehab. Center in Carrollton, KY.
He was born on February 15, 1941 in Lebanon, Kentucky, the son of the late Elkanah Johnson and Eula Shaw Johnson. He was a self-employed carpenter. He is also of the Baptist faith.
He will be missed by his wife, Janice Webster Johnson of Carrollton, KY, sons, Ricky Johnson of Denver, CO and Stevie Johnson of Madison, IN, one daughter, Tina Johnson of Hanover, IN, four brothers, Glenn (Vicky) Johnson of Sparta, KY, Leon (Wilma) Johnson of Carrollton, KY, Jerry (Donna) Johnson of Carrollton, KY, and Jimmy Johnson of Carrollton, KY, and three sisters, Jewell (James) Wolfe of Carrollton, KY, Barbara (Larry) Burkhardt of Milton, KY, and Mildrene "Mickey" (Grant) Morris of Charlestown, IN.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, four brothers, Garvin, Winston, Kanah "Johnny", and Clayborn "Blackie" Johnson, and by two sisters, Juanita White and Doris June Hylton.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 1, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton, KY with Rev. Bimp McAlister officiating the service. Interment will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton, KY.
The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
