John Corbin Holcomb of Floyds Knobs, IN, and Carrollton, KY, passed on from this world on August 20, 2021 and left behind family and friends to cherish his memory.
He was born on January 14, 1937, in Henry County, KY, the son of the late Arvey Holcomb and Lena (Cullens) Holcomb.
John worked as a public bus driver for TARC and was a member of the Amalgamated Transit Union before retiring. From 1955-58 he served his country honorably in the US Army. He was preceded in death by his spouse of 42 years Lydia Holcomb (Breeding) and his sister, Ruth Jenkins and his parents. He left a loving family behind including his 3 stepchildren that he helped raise from early childhood, Aaron Nichols, Karyn Howlett (Nichols), Gordon Nichols (Teri), his grandchildren, Jeff Nichols (Jessica), Marcus Nichols (Cassie), great grandchildren, Evalynn Nichols, Fynn Nichols, Dean Bales and the soon to be born Clarke Nichols. His Brothers, Arvey Holcomb (Ima Jean), Bobby Holcomb and his Sister Martha Caldwell.
The family would like to thank all the Staff at Green Valley Nursing Center in New Albany, IN for all their care and understanding over the last 4 years, and all the Nurses and Doctors at Baptist Health Floyd for all their help during end-of-life care.
The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the local arrangements.
