Josephine Jackson Schwing, 99, of Hanover, IN., formerly of Carrollton, KY., died on Friday evening, July 30, 2010 at the Hanover Nursing Center in Hanover, IN.
She was born on July 30, 1911 in Carrol County, KY., the daughter of the late Andrew and Malinda Alice (Lewis) Jackson. She was a former manager at the old Carrollton Dollar Store in downtown Carrollton. She was a member of the Dean Memorial United Methodist Church in Worthville, KY.
She is survived by her daughter; Nancy Alice Barnes of Madison, IN., a son-in-law; William D. Mefford of Owenton, KY., grandchildren; Kimberley (Mark) Blackburn of Owenton, KY., and Eric Barnes of Orange Park, FL., a great grandson; Matthew Blackburn of Lexington, KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Alfred Wilson Schwing in 1959 and a daughter; Frances Ann Mefford on July 15, 2006.
Funeral Services were at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.
Arrangements are entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
