Joyce Ann Wilson, born on April 25, 1946, in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio, peacefully passed away on June 25 2024, at her home in Worthville, Owen County, Kentucky, she had grown up in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio. Joyce led a fulfilling life filled with love, laughter, and cherished all.
Professionally, Joyce dedicated several years to Craigs Do-It Best Hardware in Carrollton, where she specialized in accounting and bookkeeping roles. After graduating high school, Joyce pursued further education by taking college classes in accounting and attending beautician school, showcasing her passion for learning and self-improvement.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Joyce was a woman of many talents and interests. She had a profound love for quilting and spending time outdoors. Dancing brought her immense joy, and she found solace in listening to friends play guitar or sitting next to a comforting bonfire. Music held a special place in her heart, particularly the soul-stirring notes of "Amazing Grace," which she enjoyed playing on the piano during church services at Valley Christian Church in Carrollton or whenever an opportunity arose.
In her personal life, Joyce was surrounded by a loving family who meant the world to her. She is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, John Wilson of Worthville, KY; daughter Rene Denise (Ray) Tewell of Republic, MO; son Russell D. Gillum of Dallas, TX; brothers Butch (Ann) Roellig of Muncie, IN, and John Roellig of Largo, FL; along with grandchildren Michelle Mitchell (John Adams) and Brandi (Breeze) Bruce; as well as great-grandchildren Brodey Smith, Jaycee Mitchell, and Ella Mitchell.
Joyce was predeceased by her parents Clifford Roellig Sr. and Ina Mae Trusty Roellig, and her brother Jimmy Roellig. Her memory will continue to live on through the hearts of those who knew her best.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date by the family.
Joyce Ann Wilson will be fondly remembered for her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her legacy as a dedicated professional and loving individual will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace knowing she has left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her.
