Kathleen Valco

Kathleen F. "Kathie" Valco, 56, of Carrollton, KY., died on Sunday evening, August 24, 2008 at her home in Carrollton, KY.

She was born on July 1, 1952 in Pittsburgh, PA., the daughter of the late Raymond Glenward and Rita Virginia (Smith)Fulmer. "Kathie" as most people knew her was a retired school teacher from the Carroll County School System after 21 years of service, retiring in 2007. She was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Kentucky Education Association and the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. She was a graduate of Edinboro University in Pennsylvania and she received a Masters Degree of Education from Georgetown College. Kathie was a member of the St. John Catholic Church.

She will be missed by two daughters; Heidi Valco Kruggel of Greenwood, IN., and Amanda Valco Swinney of Ludlow, KY., two sisters; Susan Fulmer Burda of Wilmington, N.C., and Jane Fulmer Pocsatko of New Port Richey, FL.

Kathie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Eugene Valco and one one sister; Gretcen Brunazzi.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday-August 30, 2008 at 9:30 A.M. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Duquesne, PA., the Rev. Dennis Calamarino will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. - Wednesday - August 27, 2008 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton, KY., and on Friday - August 29, 2008 from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. and from 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. at the Maloy-Schleifer Funeral Home in Duquesne, PA. Evening Prayers will be on Wednesday evening at 7:30 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial Gifts may be given to the Kathie Valco Memorial Scholarship Fund. Envelopes will be avaible at both funeral homes.

Arrangements have been entrusteed with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
