Keneth E. Burns, 81, of Turners Station, KY., died on Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at his son's home in Worthville, KY.
He was born on February 22, 1926 in Ghent, KY., the son of the late William and Grace (Hopkins) Burns. Keneth was retired from Dow Corning Chemical Plant in Carrollton as a Chemical Technician and he also enjoyed farming. Kenneth was active for many years in Community Affairs having been a Charter Member of the Carroll County 4-H Council, serving several terms as President and Vice President. He was also a Delegate to the Northern Kentucky Area 4-H Council where he served as President and Vice-President. He was a former Delegate to the 4-H Leaders Council for several years. He was President for the Carroll County Farm Bureau for many years. He was one of the organizers of the Northern Kentucky Feeders Pig Association, serving also as President. He Served on the Carroll County Fair Board having held all of the offices at one time or another. He served on various other committees in the county related to 4-H and agriculture. He was a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include a daughter; Paula Blackburn of Louisville, KY., five son's; Kenneth G. Burns of Worthville, KY., Darrell Burns of Turners Station, KY., Anthony G. Burns of Greensboro NC., Joe H. Burns of Turners Station, KY., and Earl Wayne Burns of Sunrise, FL., a brother; David Burns of Crestwood, KY., twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; Christine Hughes Burns on August 2001, a sister; Pauline Hawkins, brothers; William and Robert Burns and one grand daughter; Ginger Burns.
A Gathering of Family and Friends was on Thursday, January 3, 2008 from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. Cremation was chosen by the family.
