Kenneth Gregory “Butch” Burns, age 71, of Worthville, KY passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at his home surrounded by family members. He was born in Madison, Jefferson County, IN on February 15, 1951 to Kenneth E. and Christine Hughes Burns. Butch retired as a First Sergeant after serving faithfully for 38 years with U.S. National Guard, 2 nd 138 th Field Artillery and Brigade, Carrollton, KY, served as a Special Deputy Sheriff under Sheriff Ben Smith, and formerly employed by Earl Floyd’s Service Station and J&N Electronics.
His survivors include, his wife, Carolyn Johnson Burns, three daughters; Samantha (Steven Smith) Burns of Deputy, IN, Natausha Wallace of Worthville, KY and Felicia (Sanel Mesic) Beatty of Burlington, KY, two sons; Samuel Melton of Worthville, KY and Charles Daniel “Danny” (Amanda) Melton of Irvine, KY, a sister; Paula (Rick) Schmitt of Louisville, KY, three brothers; Darrell (Donna) Burns of Turners Station, KY, Anthony G. (Sherry) Burns of Campbellsburg, KY and Wayne (Marcie) Burns of Louisville, KY, sixteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter; Ginger Kay Burns, a brother; Dennis “Joe” Burns, a nephew; Kip Skaggs, sister-in-law; Freda Skaggs, mother-in-law; Geneva Johnson and father-in-law; Fred Johnson.
