Kenneth Allen “Kenny” Merrill, 86, of Carrollton, KY, died on Monday, October 9, 2017 at his residence in Carrollton, KY.
He was born on September 20, 1931 in Carroll County, KY the son of the late Cy Merrill and Emma Jean (Mefford) Merrill. He was retired from the former Rexnord Factory in Madison, IN. He had most recently worked for the Carrollton National Guard Armory in the Maintenance Department. He had served his country honorably in the United States Army, entering active duty on December 2, 1952 and serving until December 2, 1960, having obtained the rank of Corporal. He was member of the Carrollton Masonic Lodge #134 F. & A.M., the Scottish Rite Lodge in Covington, KY, and the American Legion Post #41 in Carrollton, KY.
He is survived by a nephew, Wayne Merrill of Milton, KY, several cousins, along with two step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Margaret J. Smith Merrill on August 29, 2013, a brother, J.C. Merrill and a niece.
Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton with Military Honors presented by the American Legion Post #41.
