L. Lewis Poynter, 70, of Carrollton, KY, died on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at his residence in Carrollton.
Mr. Poynter was born in Lancaster, Garrard County, KY, on July 26, 1943 to Leslie and Marie Boyd Poynter. He is of the Baptist faith, a member of the Kentucky Kruizers, Inc. and American Legion Post 41, Carrollton, KY.
Survivors include his wife - Chandra Poynter, 3 daughters - Karen Hart of Henry Co., KY, Jennifer Marie Downey of Carrollton, KY and Nadean Barnes of Somerset, KY, 4 sons - Tony Poynter and Robbie Poynter, locations unknown, Leslie Lewis Poynter, Jr. of Somerset, KY, Leslie Lewis Poynter III of Nashville, GA, 1 sister - Lela Johnson of Stafford, KY, 3 brothers - Earl Poynter of Versailles, KY, Jerry Poynter and Fred Poynter both of Lancaster, KY. 14 grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The Rev. Joe Kindoll officiated services on Firday, August 9, 2013 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. Burial was in the English Cemetery in Carrollton.
