Larry Lyons

Larry R. Lyons, 67, of Bethlehem, Henry County, KY, died on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at his residence.

He was born in Eminence, Henry County, KY, on February 17, 1946 the son of the late Marshall Lee Lyons and Eloise (Bush) Lyons. He was a graduate of Henry County High School and went on to earn a teaching degree from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, KY. He retired in 2004 as a Industrial Arts Teacher from the Owen County School System after 31 years of service. He also was a former Golf Coach for the Owen County School System.

After his retirement he ran a lawn service business and was a funeral assistant at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton. He was a member of the Berea Christian Church in Pleasureville, where he had held various church leadership roles over the years.

He proudly served his country in the Vietnam era in the United States Army.

He will be missed by his wife, Deborah Sue (Riley) Lyons, of Bethlehem, KY, his son, Larry Lynn (wife Jenny) Lyons of Frankfort, KY, two brothers, Alan Lyons of Richmond, VA, and Tommy Lyons of Louisville, KY, two sisters, Judy Baylor of Milan, IN, and Linda Karem of Louisville, KY, his two grandchildren, McKenzie Lyons and Eli Lyons, both of Frankfort, KY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Berea Christian Church in care of the funeral home.

Funeral Services were on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton with the Rev. Barbara J. Minton officiating the service.
