Lela Bernice Shoots Taylor, 91, of Carrollton, KY, died on Sunday morning, July 6, 2014 at the Green Valley Health & Rehabilitation Center in Carrollton, KY.
She was born on July 25, 1922 in Carroll County, KY, the daughter of the late Oscar G. Shoots and Georgia Lee McKinney Shoots. She was a homemaker. She had worked over the years at the Teledyne-Wirz Tube Factory in Carrollton and the Charlestown Powder Plant in Charlestown, IN. She was a member of the Union Grove Church in Bedford, KY, and was active over the years with the English Homemakers.
She is survived by two daughters, Sue Carol Payton of Valley Station, KY, and Sharon Denise Vinyard of Harrodsburg, KY, a son, Lloyd Gene Taylor of Sellersburg, IN, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and seven great - great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alvin Lloyd "Tut" Taylor on March 6, 2011, two infant children, two sisters, Ruth Meadows and Margaret Curran, a brother, Marion Woodrow Shoots and one grandchild.
Funeral Services were on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. Phillip Bruce presiding over the service. Visitation was from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.
The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Visitation was from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
