Leslie Peelman

Leslie "John" Peelman, born on April 6, 1940, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana., died Saturday, April 28, 2012 at his residence in Carrollton, Kentucky., at the age of 72.

He had lived in Kerman, California; Yuma, Arizona; Fort Wayne, Indiana; Vevay, Indiana; as well as Carrollton, Kentucky. He owned his own auto body shop in Vevay, Indiana., for many years. He was a member of the Vevay Church of Christ. He was a volunteer fireman at the Jeff Craig Volunteer Fire Department for approximately 20 years. He was a former Police Officer for the Town of Vevay for 5 years. In his spare time he enjoyed playing cards and dice, camping and fishing. His hobbies were wood working and refinishing furniture.

He will be missed by his wife, Elizabeth Chilton Meadows Peelman of Carrollton, Kentucky., sons, Leslie "Steven" Peelman (Jeanie Riggs) of Ghent, Kentucky., Mark Allen Peelman of Worthville, Kentucky., step-sons, Raymond (Sharon) Meadows, Joey (Geraldine) Meadows and William Meadows all of Carrollton, Kentucky., Carroll Meadows of Monticello, Georgia., a step-daughter, Diane Meadows of Carrollton, Kentucky., three brothers, Harold (Jerry) Peelman, Herbert Leon (Joan) Peelman and Richard Charles (Janie) Peelman all of Switzerland County, Indiana., two sisters, Lavern "Sissy" (Sonny) Wagner and Mary Lou Shaw both of Switzerland County, Indiana., three granddaughters, twenty eight step-grandchildren, three great-granddaughters, forty three step-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Lee and Blanch Ellen Romans Peelman, brothers, Robert Lee Peelman and Kenneth Peelman, who died at infancy, a nephew, William Dwayne Peelman, a niece, Karen Peelman Scudder, two step-sons, John Mike Meadows and Ricky Meadows, and three step-grandsons, John Meadows, Davey Robbins and Toby Abbott.

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. David Dicken officiating the service. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at the English Cemetery in Carrollton, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be members of the Jeff-Craig Fire Dept. from Vevay, IN.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
