Lois Jean Harmon, born on November 21, 1952, in Shelbyville, Shelby County, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at her home in Carrollton, Carroll County, Kentucky. She leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and cherished memories that her family and friends will carry with them always.

Lois had a varied and industrious career. She worked at the Butler Furniture Factory in Carrollton, the shoe factory in Madison and the re-dryer factory in Carrollton. Many remember her years spent at the tobacco warehouses in Carrollton.. In the latter part of her life, she embraced the role of a homemaker, a position she valued dearly as it allowed her to nurture and spend quality time with her family.

Lois was a woman of many interests. She found joy in watching soap operas and had a passion for cooking, which was often shared with her family during gatherings. Her greatest treasure was her family, and she devoted herself to creating a warm and loving home.

She is survived by her daughters, Phyllis "P.J." (Ronnie) Knight of Carrollton, KY, and Jennifer "Chelle" Harmon of Madison, IN. Lois also leaves behind her sister, Donna Jean Henry of Carrollton, KY, and brothers, Danny (Darlene) Payton, James "Pumpkin" Payton, Charlie Payton, and Steve (companion Rose Mary) Payton, all of Carrollton, KY. Lois was a proud grandmother to Joshua Logan Ricketts, Aaron Bige Ricketts, Philip Tylor Jones, Trey Jones, Jakob Shawn Jones, Eli Jones, Zoe Isabella Jones, Kamryn Jade Knight, Raina Harmon, and Noah Harmon. Additionally, she cherished her great-grandchildren, Areonna Ricketts, Philip Jones, Jr., Braven Bige Ricketts, and Javari Jones.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Philip Harmon, her parents, James "Jack" Payton and Goldean Howell, and her brother-in-law, Ralph Henry.

Visitation for Lois will be held at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home located at 809 Highland Ave, Carrollton, KY 41008, on Tuesday,January 21, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will take place at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Arrangements have been entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
