Lonnie Yeary

Lonnie Yeary, age 56, of Bedford, KY., died on Monday afternoon, December 10, 2007 at 2:31 P.M. at the University of Kentucky Hospital Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, KY. He was born in Oneida, Clay County, KY to Aster Zack and Edith Bowling Yaery. He was a retired chemical operator for Arkema (formerly AtoChem and M&T Chemical) in Carrollton, KY. Lonnie also was a certified EMT having served on the Carroll County Ambulance Service in years past, was a certified HAZMAT Technician and received awards for his work with HAZMAT. He volunteered for Hospice of the Bluegrass, was an avid fisherman and enjoyed woodworking and restoring old buildings and furniture. He was a member of the Worthville Christian Church and a member of the Board of Directors of the Faith Hill Community Center in Booneville, Owsley County, KY.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Gayle Moore Yeary, two daughters, Betty Yeary-Abner of Owenton, KY and Tina Logan of Lawrenceburg, KY; two step-sons, Kevin Poe and Darren Poe of Bedford, KY; two sisters, Naomia Baker of Dayton, OH and Berlis (George) Hudson of Worthville, KY; three brothers, Charles (Mary) Yeary of Carrollton, KY, William (Barbara) Yeary of Carrollton, KY and Wayne (Pamela) Yeary of Worthville, KY; four grandchildren, Elisha Harper, Mallorie Abner and Timothy Gibson II of Owenton, KY and Haley Logan of Lawrenceburg, KY and also several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents, a sister, Ann Dempsey and a brother, Larry Yeary.

Funeral services were officiated by the Rev. Joel Santos on Saturday, December 15, 2007. Burial was in the Dallasburg Masonic Cemetery in Wheatley, KY.

Memorial Gifts were given to the Worthville Christian Church in care of the funeral home.
