Louis "Sonny" Westrick

Louis “Sonny” Westrick, 87, of Carrollton, KY, died on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at his home in Carrollton.

He was born on August 4, 1935, in Carrollton, Carroll County, KY, the son of the late Edward Westrick and Mable Packham Westrick. Sonny, as most people knew him, had formerly worked for and retired from the Austin Tobacco Company as a bookkeeper. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Carrollton.

Sonny had been involved in the former Carroll County Jaycees, the American Legion Post #41, and had served as Field Manager for the Carroll County Little League Baseball Program. Sonny was an avid Cincinnati Reds Baseball fan, a University of Kentucky Basketball and Football fan, and an avid Horse Racing fan.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Helen Patton Westrick of Carrollton, KY; three daughters, Shari Brindley of Louisville, KY; Pamela (Brad) McNeal of Carrollton, KY; and Lori Westrick of Louisville, KY; a son, Michael Westrick of Madison, IN; a brother, Stanley Thomas Westrick of Parachute, CO; nine grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Bruce Westrick; four brothers, Bernard, Robert M., Ronald, Charles “Shoots” Westrick, and Edward “Bud” Westrick; three sisters, Thelma Aldridge, Ester Morgan, and Nancy Baker; and a granddaughter, Staci Westrick.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at St. John Catholic Church. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at St. John Catholic Church. Burial will take place in the St. John Catholic Cemetery in Carrollton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to St. John Catholic Church or Bluegrass Care Navigators in care of the funeral home.
