Lucille Lankton

Lucille (known to all as Sid) Lankton passed away in her Carrollton home on December 20, 2012. She was 92 years old. Sid was preceded in death by her husband Bud Lankton, by her two daughters Susan Lankton and Lee Lankton Pearson, and by her grandson Tyler Pearson. Sid is survived by her three sons Mark Lankton, Steve Lankton, and Scott Lankton, by her two granddaughters Sara Watson and Holly Lankton, and by her two great-grandchildren Lily and Brady Watson. Sid received her degree as a Registered Nurse from the University of Michigan. She retained a life long passion for helping others. She was a selfless volunteer in the Carroll Country Hospital gift shop for many years. She was also a dedicated member of the PEO, and held several positions as an officer within this organization. Sid and Bud returned to Carrollton in 1977 following Bud's retirement from Dow Corning. They had lived in many different places during their working lives, but chose Carrollton as their retirement home because they liked it the best. They were members of the Methodist Church. Sid was proud of her family, and her family was equally proud of Sid. She was a wonderful wife, mother,and role model to all. A memorial service will be on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Carrollton United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin after 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Carrollton United Methodist Church, 310 Highland Ave., Carrollton, KY 41008.
