Lynda Bates

Lynda Lou Berry Bates, 80, of Worthville, KY, died on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at the Signature Healthcare of Carrollton.

She was born on August 19, 1942, in Port Royal, Henry County, KY, the daughter of the late Charles Berry and Laura Mae Hawkins Berry.  Lynda was a graduate of Henry County High School in New Castle, KY.  Her entire life revolved around hard work, as a farmer’s wife, helping take care of the family farm and being a housewife and mother.  She loved to work in her garden and flower beds.  Lynda enjoyed her game shows on the television, especially “The Price Is Right”.  She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Port Royal Baptist Church.

Lynda will be missed by her daughter, Yogi Bates Conrad of Turners Station, KY, a brother, Bobby Berry of Gas City, IN, and a granddaughter, Gracie A. Conrad of Worthville, KY.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Raymond E. “Buster” Bates, Jr., on April 30, 2015, her grandson, Dustin Conrad on December 1, 2014, four brothers, Sherman, Parker, Gordon, and Goble Berry, and three sisters, Ann Berrier, Georgia Towns and Bebula Marsh.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
