Margaret Ruth Briley

Margaret Ruth Briley, 86, of Carrollton, KY, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2024, in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. Born on February 15, 1938, Margaret was the daughter of the late Robert Paul and Lucille Breeze Paul. She lived a life full of love, dedication, and many cherished moments.

Margaret's career as a beautician at Mane Tamers Hair Salon in Carrollton allowed her to brighten the days of countless clients. Prior to her time at Mane Tamers, she was known for her hard work at both the Gypsy Grill and Townhouse in Carrollton, where she built lasting relationships within her customers.

Outside of her professional life, Margaret’s passions were deeply intertwined with her family and her creative spirit. She enjoyed making crafts, doing yard work, and tending to her beautiful flower garden, which became a reflection of her vibrant personality. In her earlier years, she also found joy in fishing, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Margaret leaves behind a loving legacy, including her three daughters: Peggy Berry of Port Royal, KY, Margaret "Maggie" Briley of Carrollton, KY, and Carolyn Drury of Bedford, KY. She is also survived by her three sons, Bobby Briley of Lebanon, OH, Rocky Briley of Parrish, FL, and James Briley of Carrollton, KY. For 42 years, she cherished the companionship of Paul Owens of Carrollton, KY. Her family continued to grow, and she was blessed with sixteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.

Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Luke Briley, who passed away in 1996, as well as her parents and five siblings: two sisters, Lillian Vanover and Katherine Cotterman, and three brothers, Daniel, Samuel, and Richard Younger.  She was also preceded by three grandchildren.

At her request, no formal services will be held.
