Marlene Schirmer, 79, of Carrollton, KY., died on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the Baptist Hospital Northeast in LaGrange, KY.
Marlene was born in Worthville, KY. , on May 31, 1932 to John S. and Mary Elva Calvert Washburn.
She was of the Baptist faith, an avid golfer, former Girl Scout leader and enjoyed her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband - Harold B. "Beezer" Schirmer, two daughters - Debbie Fothergill and Rita Westrick both of Carrollton, KY, a sister - Linda Stamper of Carrollton, KY and a brother - John Richard Washburn of Ghent, KY, and four grandchildren. Precedeing her in death are her parents, a son - Harold B. "Butch" Schirmer, Jr. and a brother - Bill Washburn.
Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Nickels officiating the service. Burial followed the service in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.
Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made to the Myelodysplasia Research Foundation in care of the funeral home.
Arrangements were entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
