Martha Courtney

Martha Jean Courtney, 79, died on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital in Mount Vernon, KY.
She was born on March 2, 1931 the daughter of the late Chester Ellis and Martha Rebecca Wright Kinnett. Mrs. Courtney was a retired sales clerk for Craig's Hardware Store in Carrollton and also a part-time retired secretary from the First Baptist Church of Carrollton, where she was also a member.
She is survived by her husband; James "Junior" Courtney of Carrollton, KY., a son; James Courtney of Bronston, KY., a sister; Lois Audene Kemp of Leitchfield, KY., two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters; Margaret Deakins and Louise Welch and one brother; Chester Kinnett.
Funeral Services were on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Carrollton with Dr. Chris White officiating the service. Visitation was from 11:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. on Thursday at the church. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville, KY.
The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
