Martha Laswell

Martha Hudgins Laswell, 93, of Louisville, KY, formerly of Carrollton, KY, died on Saturday morning, March 11, 2017 at her daughters home in Louisville, KY.

She was born on May 6, 1923 in Carroll County, KY, the daughter of the late John Davis Hudgins and Sarah Jane Merrill Hudgins. In her younger years she had worked at the A.H. Wirz/ Teledyne Tube Factory in Carrollton for eighteen years. Most recently she spent her time at home as a homemaker. She enjoyed Quilting and Gardening in her spare time. She was a member of the North Bullitt Christian Church in Shepherdsville, KY.

She will be missed by her three daughters, Betty (Bill) Kinley of Louisville, KY, Elaine Perry of New Albany, IN, and Patty (Bud) Kemper of Carrollton, KY, two step-son’s, Joe (Charlotte) and Steve (Mona) Laswell, both of Shepherdsville, KY, ten grandchildren, three step grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two step great grandchildren and two great - great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Eugene Laswell on February 1, 2007, her son in-law, Gene Perry, two sisters, Margaret Smith and Pauline Ray, three brothers, Chester “Boots” Fancher, Robert and Raymond Hudgins, two grandchildren also preceded her in death, Tim Perry and Kimberly McDonald.

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Kazee officiating the service. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Ghent Masonic Cemetery in Ghent, KY.
