Mary Aaron

Mary Katherine Aaron, age 91, of Carrollton, KY passed this life peacefully surrounded by love on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mary’s life was filled with God, family, friends and love for every being.  She was born in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY on July 6, 1928 to John Elliott and Bessie Cain Perry.  Mary was a member of the Campbellsburg United Pentecostal Church, was a homemaker who enjoyed her flowers, gardening and birds.  She had also worked many years ago at the Carrollton Furniture Factory. Known by many as Mamaw Mary, she filled her home with love, especially for children. Often Mamaw Mary could be found playing with her grandchildren which she adored and loved so very much. Mamaw Mary had great strength, she was the rock of the family. Strong willed and opinionated Mamaw Mary always put family first. She often said "getting old is not for the weak, you die young or grow old."

Survivors include her daughter-in-law; Connie Aaron of Carrollton, KY, a sister; Troye Phelps of Milton, KY, four brothers; Rev. Elliott “Junior” Perry of Bedford, IN, Rev. Ray Perry of Louisville, KY, Sanford E. “Bud” Skaggs of Turners Station, KY and Robert C. “Bob” Perry of Turners Station, KY, four grandchildren, Kassie (Jon)Winburn of Carrollton, Kerri Poole of Carrollton, Jeremy (Travis) Aaron of Seattle and Melissa C of Campbellsburg, KY, seven great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Olen Aaron in 1988, her daughter; Donna Rose Poole in 2015, her sons, Donnie Poole and James O. “Jimmy” Aaron in 2016, a grandchild – Donna K. Warren and a great-grandchild, Natasha O’Connor.
