Mary Emma Mefford

Mary Emma Cottrell Mefford, 91, of Carrollton, KY, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at her home in Carrollton, KY.

She was born on January 7, 1933, in Worthville, Carroll County, KY, the daughter of the late Albert Cottrell and Josephine Cook Cottrell. Mary had a long rewarding career of hard work, having worked at Simmons Grocery Store in Worthville, The Worthville Post Office, McIntyre Meats in Carrollton, Parkview IGA in Carrollton, and most recently Wal-Mart in Carrollton.  She had been a member of the Worthville Baptist Church for many years.

She will be missed by her daughter, Miranda (Michael) Smith of Carrollton, KY, her two sons, Lawrence Kevin Mefford of Carrollton, KY, and Kerry (Annettte) Mefford of Milton, KY, four grandchildren, Blake Mefford, Shianne James, Kaitlynn Harmon, and Darrell Harmon, along with her best friend, her fur baby, Petey.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Eugene Merredith Mefford, a sister, Joan Robbins and two brothers, Woodrow and Russell Cottrell.

Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, with visitation beginning after 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at the funeral home.  The interment will take place in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.
