Mary Bates

Mary Lee Bates, 75, of Milton, Carroll County, KY., died on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the St. Joseph Hospice Care Center in Lexington, KY.

She was born on September 23, 1937 in Carroll County, KY., the daughter of the late Elmer Henry Rose and Ora Lee Gordon Rose. She was a retired Housekeeper for the Carroll County Memorial Hospital, with over 39 years of service. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

She is survived by a son, Levy (wife Pam) Bates, of Milton, KY., three daughters, Rita Sutherland of Shelbyville, KY., Laura R. Wilson of Carrollton, KY., and Delsie Bates of Milton, KY., a brother, Junior Lee Rose of Carrollton, KY., a sister, Juanita Marie (Husband JD) Smith of Carrollton, KY., ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leon " Chigger" Bates, a son Gerald Bates, and one brother, Elmer Rose, Jr.

Funeral Services will be on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Wade officiating the service. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. on Friday, March 29, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.
