Mary McNeal

Mary Ruth Jones McNeal, 88,  of Carrollton, KY, died on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, KY.

She was born on May 20, 1930 in Providence, Webster County, KY, the daughter of the late Clay Edgar Jones and Ruth Frances Baker Jones. She had formerly worked as a Headstart Pre-School Teacher for the Carroll County School System, having worked from 1965-1971.  She was a member of the Carrollton First Baptist Church, the Church Choir and a Sunday School Teacher.  She had been a member of the Carrollton Women’s Club.

In her spare time she enjoyed flower gardening, golfing, sewing, crafting, cooking, singing and playing the piano.

She is survived by a daughter, Nancy (Jim) Elam of Georgetown, KY, two sons, Greg (Cathey) McNeal of Corunna, IN, and Brad (Pam) McNeal of Carrollton, KY,  seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James R. McNeal on February 11, 2013, three brothers, Lawrence Jones, Edgar Jones and George Hancock.

Funeral Services will be on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Carrollton with the Rev. Dr. Chris White officiating the service.  Visitation will be on Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Carrollton and from 2:00 P.M. - 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Carrollton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the First Baptist Church of Carrollton in care of the funeral home.
