Mary Edith "Sissy" Wells, 68, of Carrollton, KY, died on Thursday evening, June 9, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on September 14, 1947 in Carroll County, KY, the daughter of the late Hubert B. Mefford and Mary Ellen Tingle Mefford of Ghent, KY. She was a 1965 graduate of the Carroll County High School. She was retired from the Carroll County Health Department as a Health Care Provider and Nurse. She had also worked at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital as a Surgical Nurse. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a member of the D.A.M. club, a club she and her friends formed when they did something silly.

She will be missed by her mother, Mary Ellen Mefford of Ghent, KY, her two sons, Dwayne Wells of Worthville, KY, and Brad Wells of West River, MD, her canine companion, Sam, five brothers, Gayle Mefford of Madison, IN, David Mefford of Henry County, KY, Andy Mefford of Carrollton, KY, Eddie and Roger Mefford, both of Ghent, KY, and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Hubert B. Mefford, a son, Jason Wells, and a brother, Vernon Mefford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Big Brothers and Big Sisters Program of Carroll County in care of the funeral home.

Arrangements are entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.

Visitation

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. on Monday, June 13, 2016 at the Family Worship Center.

Funeral

A Memorial Service will be on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 7:00 P.M. at the Family Worship Center in Carrollton with the Rev. Pat Butcher officiating the service.

Interment

Burial will be in the Ghent Masonic Cemetery in Ghent, KY.
