Mary Jane Abbott

Mary Jane Tucker Abbott, 78, of Verona, KY., formerly of the Bedford, KY., area died on Friday morning, April 6, 2007 at her daughters residence in Verona, KY.

She was born on December 5, 1928 in Blue Ash, OH., the daughter of the late John Everett and Rebecca Suzanne (Adkins) Tucker. Mary was a homemaker and a former Grill Cook for the Churchill Manor Restaurant in Carrollton. She was a member of the Poplar Ridge Baptist Church in Bedford, KY., and a past Auxilliary Commander of the D.A.V. Chapter #55 in Madison, IN.

She will be missed by her daughters; Rebecca Lucas of Carrollton, KY., Rose Hatmaker of Verona, KY., Darlene Anderson of Charlotte, N.C., Debbie Pennington of Hanford, CA., and Joyce Gautier of South Gate, KY., sons; Norman Abbott of Ghent, KY., and Terry Abbott of Bedford, KY., sisters; Clara Gividen of Bedford, KY., Patricia Kitchens of Hattiesburg, MS., Frances Patterson of New Castle, KY., brothers; Leo Tucker of Milton, KY., and Joseph Tucker of Bedford, KY., twenty seven grandchildren and forty two great grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; William Edward Abbott on July 31, 2003, daughters; Clara Knox and Ruth Singer, an infant son; Christopher Abbott, sisters; Sarah, Alberta and Della Tucker, and one brother; Everett Tucker.

Funeral Services were conducted on Monday, April 9, 2007 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with burial in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton, KY.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
