Melvin was born in Boone County, KY to Robert Lee and Anna Flossie (Pigg) Snow. He was a farmer and he retired in 1993 after 33 years as a school bus driver for the Carroll County School District. Melvin served in the US Navy during World War II, was a member of the American Legion Post #41 in Carrollton, KY and a member of the Ghent Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Joy Jones Snow, whom he married on January 24, 1948, three daughters; Deborah Joy Evans, Patsy Diane Kidd and Bonnie Faye Snow all of Ghent, KY, two sons; Melvin Randall Snow and William Allen Snow both of Ghent, KY, five grandchildren; Dennis Snow of Columbia City, IN, Angie Begley of Ghent, KY, Heather Groves of Ghent, KY, Dustin Cheatum of Carrollton, KY and Chelsea Mazza of Ghent, KY and three great grandchildren; Courtney Hearn, Dylan Groves and Landon Lee Groves all of Ghent, KY. Preceding him in death are his parents, four sisters; Alberta Robertson, Mamie Staton, Myrtle Walton and Katherine Setters, four brothers; Woodrow Wilson Snow, Charles Ray Snow, Sam Snow and Robert Snow.
Jefferson Post #9 of the American Legion of Madison, IN will conduct Military Honors at the cemetery
