Mr. Shirley Monroe Koerber, age, 91, a dedicated delivery driver who served Royal Crown and 7 UP through a Distributorship before his retirement in 2000, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, in Warsaw, Gallatin County, Kentucky. Born on October 14, 1932, in the same town where he spent his last moments, He led a fulfilling life filled with hard work and cherished moments.
He had also formerly worked for Texaco Oil Company in California and Arizona before transitioning to the distributorship industry where he left a mark with his exceptional service and work ethic until his retirement.
Not only was Mr. Koerber exemplary in his career, but he also served his country honorably in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956. His dedication to duty and commitment to serving others characterized his entire life.
Outside of work and military service, he found joy in various hobbies and interests such as driving tractor-trailers, traveling in the RV he and his wife owned, mowing grass, and simply spending time with his beloved family. He was a member of the Verona Church of Christ.
He leaves behind a legacy that will be carried on by his surviving family members: his loving wife, Loretta Ophelia Young Koerber, of Warsaw, KY, to whom he would have celebrated 70 years of marriage with on September 17th of this year; a daughter, Dianne Koerber (Bobbo Wilson) Stockdale of Carrollton, KY; a son Monty Lynn Koerber of Warsaw, KY; a daughter-in-law Stella Koerber of Warsaw, KY; along with six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Shirley was preceded in death by his parents Denver Monroe Koerber and Mildred Ashcraft Koerber, a sister Juanita Jackson, and a brother Arnold Koerber who have now reunited with him in eternal peace.
The memory of Mr. Shirley Monroe Koerber will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. The visitation will take place on Monday, May 20th, from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at Noon on Monday, May 20th. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, KY.
