Myrle Welch

Myrle Glenn Welch, 87, of Carrollton, KY., died on Wednesday evening, January 28, 2009 at his residence.

He was born on September 12, 1921 in Trimble County, KY., the son of the late Shirley Edgar and Bessie(Giddens) Welch. Myrle farmed for many years in Trimble and Carroll County. He was retired from Kraft Foods with twenty years of service, he formerly worked for the Carrollton Cabinet Company and most recently retired from the Public Works Department for the City of Carrollton.

He served his country in the three C's and the Army during W.W. II. in England and France.

He was a member of the Union Grove Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife Alma Muriel Taylor Welch of 63 years to whom he married on May 12, 1945.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Four Sisters - Denzil Davis, Wanda Welch, Dixie Welch and Marjorie Lou Welch, Three Brothers - Daniel, Odell and Cleston Welch, Half-Brother - Charles Hutchason.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 2, 2009 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. Phillip Bruce officiating the service. Visitation is from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M., Sunday, February 1, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton. The Carrollton American Legion Post #41 will conduct the Military Graveside Honors on Monday.
