Nellie O'Neal

Nellie M. O’Neal, 90, of Carrollton, KY, died on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Baptist Health in La Grange, KY.

She was born on March 22, 1932, in Ghent, Carroll County, KY, the daughter of the late Webb Suter Mefford and Lura Christine Polley Mefford.  Nellie retired from the Carroll County Memorial Hospital in 1994 from the Housekeeping Department.  She was a former member of the Carrollton I.O.O.F. Lodge #64 and the Rebekah Lodge #60 in Carrollton.  She was of the Baptist faith.

Nellie will be missed by her daughter, Connie (Joe) O’Neal Lichtenberg of Louisville, KY, her son, Randy (Cindy) O’Neal of Carrollton, KY, a sister, Barbara A. Garriott of Carrollton, KY.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Fred “Floogie” O’Neal on September 29, 2006, a sister, Bessie Louise Mefford, and three brothers, John William Mefford, Webb S. Mefford, Jr., and Jerry Mefford.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
