Orville Simmons

Orville Jay Simmons, age 88, of Carrollton, KY, died Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at the Green Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on November 18, 1926 in Carroll County, KY to Hobert and Grace O'Neal Simmons. He retired in 1989 as an independent self-employed truck driver, a member of the First Apostolic Church in Carrollton, KY, a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and a member of the American Legion Post #41 in Carrollton, KY.

Survivors include his daughter: Theresa Lewellyn of Carrollton, KY, two grandsons: Brent Lewellyn of Madison, IN and Chad Lewellyn of Union, KY, two great grandchildren: Danielle Lewellyn and Jordan Lewellyn both of Milton, KY, and a niece: Wanda (Eddie) Harsin of Ghent, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Virginia Ruth Simmons (1999), a sister: Ruby Katherine Leach (2008) and an infant brother.

Military Rites will be conducted by members of the Honor Guard of the American Legion Post #41.
