She attended Eastern Kentucky College (later Eastern Kentucky University) for two years and went to Louisville KY for summer work. She enjoyed the money and decided not to return to college. While in Louisville, she renewed acquaintance with Ken, her future husband, who was attending seminary and working as a janitor in an old downtown Baptist church. Patsy served in various volunteer positions in the churches in which her husband served as Director of Music and Education such as teaching Sunday School, leading women's organizations, playing piano for children's choir and other positions. After the death of her father, and with her mother being in poor health, Ken resigned from his church work in 1969 and they moved in with her mother into the house in Ghent where she lived as a little girl. Ken took a position as a teacher in the Carroll County School System and she a position with the Carroll County Memorial Hospital She worked at the hospital for seven years and then at Dow Corning Chemical Plant for 15 years where she was the secretary in the Quality Assurance Department until her retirement.
After moving to Ghent, she became active in the Ghent Baptist Church, teaching an adult Sunday School class participating in the Women's Missionary Union and playing the piano for children's choir. She played the piano and organ at the church for thirty years until failing eyesight forced her to retire. After their retirement, Patsy and Ken visited their children and grandchildren and visited all 50 of the United States and several Canadian Provinces. Patsy was afflicted with Alzheimer disease the latter part of her life. In March of 2008 she broke her hip and spent life after that at Green Valley Health and Rehabilitation (now Signature Health Care facility of Carrollton). She was a devoted wife and mother and a devoted follower of Christ.
