Paul Thomas Miller, age 88, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 3, 2022. He was born on March 19, 1934, to William and Dora Carmack Miller in Fourmile, Kentucky where he enjoyed being outside, hunting and farming. Paul was married for 65 years to Ethel Mills Miller, and they have two daughters, Sijean (Kevin) Hill of Carrollton, Ky, and Paula (Doug) Curry also of Carrollton, Ky. He had high expectations for them and passed on his work ethic and love of family. He lost his father at the age of 11 months and was fortunate as the youngest child to be raised by his mother and his older siblings. Paul had a very close-knit family and was preceded in death by all of his siblings, brothers, Andy, Homer, Alonzo, Vernon and Don, and sisters, Neva, Gladys, Thelma, Hazel and Della. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, and brothers-in-law, that he was very close to.
Paul joined the Air Force as soon as he turned 18 and was stationed in Iceland during the Korean War. After he completed his service, he moved to Knoxville and attended trade school later moving to Cincinnati, while courting his future wife, he graduated from Ohio Mechanics Institute in Cincinnati. He married shortly after that on August 31, 1957 and was one of the original employees of Dow Corning in Carrollton and worked there until his retirement at the age of 59. After retirement he and his wife traveled the United States, and he had many stories and pictures to share of that time.
He was very proud of his three grandchildren, Devon (Bobby) Burgess, Kyndal (Will) Yager and Thomas Hill. Paul attended many Volleyball, Basketball, and Tennis Matches at the Carroll County Schools and was the biggest fan. He recently became a great grandfather to Shepherd Yager and Roran Burgess and looked forward to passing on a lot of his Pawpaw Jokes.
Paul leaves behind a legacy of hard work, love for education, sense of humor, and love. We will celebrate his life with a Funeral Service on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at 7:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Carrollton with the Rev. Chris White officiating the service.
