Ralph M. Herald, 85, of Worthville, KY., died on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, IN. He was born in Owen County, KY., on June 17, 1924 to the late Elmer and Olia Breeden Herald. He was retired from M&T Chemical Co., was a former employee at Rich Ladder Co. and a former Corrections Officer at Kentucky State Reformatory at LaGrange, KY. Mr. Herald was also a former member of the Worthville Volunteer Fire Department and an avid motorcycle rider and served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.His survivors include his wife: Bonnie Moscoe Herald, 3 daughters: Dale LaVonne Eaves of Worthville, KY, Sheilah Ann (Glenn) Norton of Danville, KY and Rhonda Gaye Burt of Worthville, KY; 3 sons: Dennis Keith (Barbara) Herald of West Milton, OH, Ricky Muriel Herald of Worthville, KY and Barry Alan (Sandra) Herald of Nicholasville, KY; 1 sister: Pauline Suter of Wheatley, KY; 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.Mr. Herald was preceded in death by his parents; a son: Chris Elmer Herald; and a granddaughter: Lauren Elizabeth Herald.The Rev. Dennis W. Norton officiated the services on June 23, 2009 at the Dean Memorial United Methodist Church.Memorial gifts may be made to the Dean Memorial United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
