Red Platt

"Red" Platt, 75, of Sanders, Kentucky, passed away on September 13, 2012 in Carrollton, KY.

He was born on December 29, 1936 in Falmouth, Kentucky, the son of the late Harry Platt and Elsie Roberts Platt. He was a Farmer and excellent Mechanic; he enjoyed woodworking, he had a passion for restoring old tractors, attending auctions and buying and selling things. He was known for being able to about fix about anything.

He will be missed by his wife, Annie Wheeler Platt, three sons, Michael William Platt, Carrollton, KY, Roger Dale Platt, Ghent, KY, Lonnie Darrell Platt, Crestwood, KY., one daughter, Pamela Sue Platt, Ghent, Ky and two step-daughters, Shelley Craig, Carrollton, Ky and Monica Meadows, Ghent, KY., sisters, Annette Hatton, Millersburg, KY., Linda Whalen, Cynthiana, KY., Elsie Daughtery, Butler, KY., brother, Ollie Platt , Carlisle, KY., eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Jewell "Suzie" Platt., sister, Dorthy Jones, brother, Harvey Platt.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 17, 2012 from 4:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at the Family Worship Center in Carrollton, KY. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Family Worship Center in Carrollton, Ky with Rev. Pat Butcher officiating the service. Burial will take place in the Dallasburg Masonic Cemetery in Wheatley, KY.

In Lieu of Flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Family Worship Center or the Tricia Froman - Nutter Melanoma Research Fund.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
