Richard Lee "Dickie" Smith, 71, died on Friday, August 5, 2011 at the Veterans Medical Center in Lexington, KY.
He was born on December 25, 1939 in Warsaw, Gallatin County, KY., the son of the late Clay Smith and Ruby Bell Robinson Smith Roberts. He was a retired farmer and a member of the American Legion Post #41 in Carrollton.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.
He will be missed by his son's, Ricky Lee Smith of Deputy, IN., William Michael Smith, James Ray Smith and Richard Lee Smith, Jr. all of Carrollton, KY., Paul Eugene Smith of Louisville, KY., a daughter, Sandra Gay Bonesteele of Robinson, IL., a sister, Rosemary McCormick of Ghent, KY., 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Laura May Johns Smith, brothers, Jimmy and Bill Smith and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services were on Monday, August 8, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. Burial was in the Warsaw Cemetery in Warsaw, KY.
