Robert “Bob” Lindsey Stamper, 71, of Carrollton, KY, died on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY.
He was born on October 29, 1950, the son of the late Herbert and Margaret Kerns Stamper. “Bob” as many people in Carrollton knew him, served as a Police Officer for over 34 years for the City of Carrollton retiring as a Sergeant, was formerly a Ranger at the General Butler State Resort Park in Carrollton and a former Deputy Sheriff for Carroll County.
Bob will be missed by his three daughters, Angie (Eric) Heishman of Floyds Knobs, IN, Judy (David) Applegate of Fort Walton Beach, FL, and Michelle (Gary) Sanders of Valparaiso, FL, his always faithful dog, Abby, ten grandchildren, Hannah Lira, Chelsie Powell, Brooke Howard, Erica, Corey, and Hailey Heishman, Garrison, Grant, Grayson and Gabriel Sanders, six great grandchildren, Makenna, Mahayla, Braden, Kinsley, Lucinda and Eric. A special appreciation for Luis (Louie) and Michelle Lira, for handling much of Bob’s day to day duties in his later years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Linda Stamper, his son, John Wayne Powell, his brother, Danny Stamper, and his faithful dog, Abby.
Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton with the Rev. Joe Kindoll officiating. No visitation will be held prior to the graveside service.
