Roger Jay Arvin, 75, of Ghent, KY, died on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton, KY.
He was born on October 24, 1939 in Carrollton, Carroll County, KY, the son of the late Hugh Arvin and Lora Carrie O'Neal Arvin. He was retired from Fenton Rigging as a Iron Worker Superintendent with Local United Iron Workers of America #44 in Cincinnati, OH. He was a member of the Ghent Baptist Church, the Carrollton Masonic Lodge #134 F. & A.M. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He was the Past Commander of the American Legion Post #41 in Carrollton, KY. He was an avid Hunter.
He is survived by his wife Karen Sue Holliday Arvin of Ghent, KY, three daughters, Sherma Lee Arvin of Carrollton, KY, Tracy Carol Vories of Ghent, KY, Sally Elizabeth Shukitis of Carrollton, KY, a step -son, Charles M. McCulley of Madison, IN, eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, John Vernon Arvin, William Harold Arvin, Luther Arvin, Eugene Arvin and Paul Thomas Arvin, two sisters, Carrie Doll and Noni Watson.
Military Honors are being presented by the Carrollton American Legion Post #41.
Pallbearers will be Billy Arvin, Herbert Arvin, Frankie Arvin, Roger T. Arvin, Zach Beckham and Charles McCulley.
