Ronald Eugene Wilson, 63, of Carrollton, KY., died on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at his residence in Carrollton, KY.
He was born on December 19, 1948 in Madison, Jefferson County, IN., the son of he late Joseph Wilson, Sr. and Helen Popp Wilson Bell. He was a former Umpire with the North Central Umpires Association in Kentucky. He attended Family Worship Center in Carrollton.
He had served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era working as a mechanic. During his tour of duty he received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, along with Two Overseas Bars.
He is survived by two daughters, Susan M. Garcia and Helen R. Griffin, both of Carrollton, KY., five sisters, Sandra Taylor of Gillette, WY., Shirley Statler of Muskogee, OK., Kimberly Kopp, Oneida Rose & Danielle Chadwell all of Carrollton, KY., three brothers, Joseph Wilson, Jr., and David T. Wilson, both of Carrollton, KY., Timothy A. Wilson of Bedford, KY., ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren , several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother, Marcella O'Conner Wilson, a nephew, Jay Taylor.
Graveside Services will be at 12:30 P.M. on Monday, November 19, 2012 at the Worthville Cemetery in Worthville, KY. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. - Noon on Monday, November 19, 2012 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given Ronald Eugene Wilson Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
